Image Cropping 2

  1. I second Mr. C's opinion that you did a great job cropping. The Imagine photo also stuck out to me...the cropping was great but I also noticed a change in color. Having been to NY and seen this actual image (and seeing other copies of this photograph) I'm curious...did you change the colors yourself? And if so, what program are you using? I also like this image of the two people in the blanket. I think it's so interesting how you cropped the people almost out of the first copy of the picture thereby making the focal point of the picture the red kite whereas it's most certainly the couple in other copies of the image.

  2. Hey Tyler,

So this is definitely my favorite of all the cropped pictures, but I think the "Imagine" one is really neat as well. In the first Woodstock picture the focal point to me is the man looking away ... I'm not sure if that was your intention, but he draws me in. I think it's because I want to know what he is looking at specifically, but the people in the foreground make the picutre more interesting because they seem oblivious to what is happening arond them ... though if you look closely at the angle of the man's head, it could be construed as him looking in the same direction as the "focal point" man. This gives the picture some directionality.

My favorite crop of the imagine photograph is the second one with the rose and the sun flower. I always envision sun flowers and daisies when I think of Woodstock and hippies, and to me the rose is pointing to that which represents that era. While your other crops were good, the Woodstock and the Imagine photos had the most emotional charge and focus to me.

    Great job!
